"The Bears have no concerns about an Achilles tendon injury that has sidelined center Olin Kreutz to begin training camp.

Dusty Dvoracek's calf injury isn't believed to be serious either, but however minor, it's another setback for the third-year defensive tackle, who needs to be on the field to stake his claim for a starting job.

Kreutz, a six-time Pro Bowl performer, was placed on the physically unable to perform list a week after undergoing a procedure to clear up scar tissue in his Achilles tendon.

''I feel all right,'' said Kreutz, an 11-year veteran who has started 115 of the last 116 regular-season games. ''I've had it for years. We tried something to see if it would go away. I just wanted to try something new with it.''

He wouldn't guess whether he will be ready for the preseason opener Aug. 7 against Kansas City, but there's no fear this will linger into the regular season.

Dvoracek is on the non-football injury list because he was hurt working out on his own after the offseason program. He missed a good chunk of the offseason with a sprained left hand and now has the new ailment while coming back from a torn ACL.

''It doesn't seem like it's a significant injury,'' coach Lovie Smith said. ''Whenever a guy misses any amount of time, there is a little bit of concern but not a lot. He'll be fine.''"
