"Miami Heat power forward Udonis Haslem was cleared for his first game action of the preseason after this morning's shootaround in London in advance of today's exhibition against the New Jersey Nets at O2 Arena.

Haslem, who entered training camp with a sprained left foot, recently had been practicing on alternate days, while sitting out the first two exhibitions, overtime losses to the Detroit Pistons at home last Sunday and then to the Nets on Thursday in Paris.

His return is particularly significant because of the broken left hand that has sidelined center Jamaal Magloire for at least six weeks, and potentially far longer if surgery is required for the fracture of his third metacarpal.

First-year coach Erik Spoelstra said Saturday that he would spot Haslem at center in upcoming exhibitions to gauge the viability of a smaller front line that would have Haslem in the middle, possibly alongside forwards Michael Beasley and Shawn Marion."
