"New Anaheim defenseman Nathan McIver skated out of the penalty box and into a breakaway, and beating Roberto Luongo at 22 seconds of overtime to give the Ducks a 4-3 preseason win over the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night.

It was McIver's first game for the Ducks after being claimed off waivers from the Canucks after Vancouver tried to send him down to the American Hockey League.

Corey Perry scored once and added two assists, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 27 saves as the Ducks wrapped up the preseason 6-1-1, setting a new franchise record.

Mason Raymond scored two power play goals for the Canucks, who also finished the preseason with a franchise-best 6-0-1 record.

Both teams started their No.1 goalies and dressed most of their regulars, with the notable exception of star Ducks defenseman Chris Pronger.

Former Canuck Brendan Morrison opened the scoring midway through the first period after a strange sequence of calls gave Anaheim with a 3-minute power play.

Mattias Ohlund received a 5-minute major for boarding after what appeared to be a chest-to-chest hit that left Perry dazed, but Moen only got a 2-minute roughing minor for his retaliatory fight with the big defenseman."
