"The NFL apparently is in no hurry to decide whether Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones should be disciplined for fighting a bodyguard hired by the team.

"Our review of the Adam Jones matter will not be completed until next week," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an e-mail to the San Antonio Express-News.

That means Jones is free to play at Arizona on Sunday.

Jones participated in practice Friday. He left the team's training facility without speaking to reporters.

The NFL is probing a fight between Jones and a member of his four-man security team, Tommy Jones, on Tuesday night at an upscale downtown Dallas hotel. Police investigaged the altercation but no charges were filed.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced Thursday an internal investigation concluded Adam Jones broke no team rules and would not be disciplined.

On Friday, Jones told reporters in Irving he's optimistic his input will be weighed heavily by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, who reinstated Adam Jones just before the start of the regular season. Jones had served a 17-month suspension for violating the league's conduct code.

Jerry Jones also reiterated during his weekly radio show that the scuffle between Adam Jones and Tommy Jones stemmed from a "playful" disagreement that got out of hand.
