Calloway played 11 years in the NFL, originally being drafted in the fourth round, 97th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1990. After starting his career in Pittsburgh, Calloway signed on with the Giants in 1992. For four straight seasons, from 1995-1998, Calloway led the Giants in receiving, being the first Giant player to do so since Frank Gifford led the team five times (1995-59). Calloway had his most successful season in 1998, when he had 62 receptions (a career high) and six touchdowns. Calloway closed out the 1998 season getting a pass reception in 47 straight games, a current Giants record, and sits third on the all-time Giants receiving list with 334 catches. Calloway finished his career playing with the Falcons in 1999 and the Patriots in 2000. Chris keeps in touch with many NFL teams and looks forward to sharing that “insider edge” in his blog. Matt Ryan for MVP?
My personal pick for MVP would be Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Matt Ryan. What he’s done for the Falcons in one season is remarkable when you consider the state of the team before Atlanta drafted him.

AFC playoff predictions
My predictions about the NFC are still solid and attainable with Arizona, New York, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta and Carolina. The only pick that could be shaky is in the NFC North – but does it really matter who comes out of that division?

NFC playoff predictions
With three games remaining, there are realistically 17 teams still in contention for 12 playoff spots. As a player, this time of the year is both tiresome and also exciting. You have the usual holiday seasons coming and going, along with family members calling about tickets. The downside is your body is sore and aching.

T.O. VS the Field
Let’s play Fantasy Football and you are the general manager on the clock. Who would you rather have Terrell Owens or Plaxico Burress? Owens or Adam “Pacman” Jones? Michael Irvin or Owens?

Michael Vick murmors begin
Here in Atlanta, everyone is looking forward to another big week for the Falcons. Not since Dan Reeves and the Dirty Birds in 1998 has the city been so optimistic.

Fair-Weather Fans
Listen blog followers: I understand about being a loyal fan and teammate instead of a fair-weather fan. During my seven years with the New York Giants, we made the playoffs twice. We weren’t that good, but as a player and teammate, I stood by my team despite average quarterbacks.

Sign of the Times
I guess none of you Bear fans ever saw the movie A Few Good Men. Anyone who watched it is familiar with the line Jack Nicholson made famous: “You can’t handle the truth.”

Performance Drugs: Viagra?
How ‘bout them New York Giants? My bad, I’m sorry. How ‘bout them Chicago Bears? I’d rather talk about the 7-1 Giants than the 5-3 Bears any day but oh well, I digress. Too bad the Giants and Bears don’t play each other this season because then I wouldn’t feel so guilty when bringing up the subject.

Let go of that ego
Let’s talk about egos. I’m sure all you bloggers out there have one. Well guess what, so do I. And when someone tells me I cannot do something or I’m not doing the right things, I am the type of person who takes exception to it.

G-Men take on Heinz Field
I have always been coached to take care of business at home and steal a few on the road. This year, the majority of the Giants’ victories have been at home. They are 1-1 on the road which isn’t bad, but winning at home in this division is paramount for a playoff run.

Giant Disappointment
Looking lackluster is how the New York Giants appeared Monday night against the struggling Cleveland Browns.

Coughlin: The best coach in the NFL
If the Giants make another Super Bowl run, we have to recognize Tom Coughlin, who gets very little credit for his ability to lead teams. If Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is considered a genius, then what is Coughlin?

Back to Work: Staying Focused in the NFL
Speaking as a New York Giant player, I am well rested and ready to conquer the rest of the season. After training camp, your legs are a little sore and tired. You don’t feel it as much at the beginning of the season because of the adrenalin of new competition. That quickly wears off when the season is in full throttle and the body takes a beating.

Griese Sends Message to Bears
When I played as a receiver, I used to wish we had an offensive coordinator who would dial up 67 passing attempts. That is what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Brian Griese did to defeat the Chicago Bears, 27-24, in overtime. Anyone who says revenge is a dish that is best served cold didn’t see how hot Griese was last Sunday.

Are the Giants on a path to start 6-0?
What a difference a year makes for the Giants, who were 0-2 last year at this point and are now 2-0. With the next four games against sub-par teams, they have a chance of going 6-0.

Are You Ready For Some Football?
After Week 1 of the ‘08 NFL season, everyone seems to be excited about his or her particular team. I guess it's about that time of the year where we, as football fans, can't wait to hear those six beer spattered words: "Are You Ready For Some Football?”

Don’t Tuck and Hide
With the eyes of the world focused on him and the rest of his Giant teammates, DL Justin Tuck spent last years Super Bowl doing his best impersonation of former Chicago Bulls player Scottie Pippen.
