Justin Morneau's sore left wrist kept him out of the lineup Friday, May 4, when the Twins opened a three-game series against the Mariners at Safeco Field.
With Erik Komatsu not due to arrive until Saturday, and 13 pitchers on the active roster, the Twins were down to one bench player - Trevor Plouffe.
Morneau flew back to the Twins Cities on Tuesday to have his surgically repaired wrist checked by a specialist, who deemed the tenderness standard post-op pain. The Twins declined to put Morneau on the 15-day disabled list, indicating they expect him to be available soon, but he did not take batting practice Friday.
