Something's missing.

The NHL Awards Show tonight is meant to honor the best players in the league.

But for the Red Wings, annually among the best teams, there is but one hope: Pavel Datsyuk, who is a finalist for the Selke Trophy (defensive forward) a fifth consecutive year.

Datsyuk won the Selke three consecutive seasons (2008-10) before finishing second behind Livonia native and Canuck star Ryan Kesler last year.

Datsyuk's competition this year includes St. Louis' David Backes and Boston's Patrice Bergeron.
