Bucs wide receiver Mike Williams, who was a fourth-round selection in 2010, has statistically out performed his rookie four-year $2.33 million contract, and reports are the Buccaneers and Williams' agent Hadley Englehard have begun preliminary talks to extend Williams deal.

Williams burst onto the scene in his rookie season leading all NFL rookies with 65 receptions for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2011 Williams, along with the majority of the Bucs offense, regressed and despite catching the same number of balls (65), Williams yards (771) and touchdown receptions (3) dropped considerably.
