The Minnesota Wild has recalled defenseman Jonathon Blum from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Iowa Wild.

The blueliner has 16 points (3-13=16) in 29 games in Iowa this season. The Wild signed him as a free agent this summer.

Blum collected seven points (1-6=7) and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 35 games with the Nashville Predators last season. He also recorded 12 points (1-11=1) in 34 contests with the Milwaukee Admirals in the American Hockey League (AHL). The 6-foot-1, 190-pound native of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., notched 22 points (7-15=22) and 20 PIM in 91 career NHL matches during three seasons with the Predators. He also skated in 12 playoff games with Nashville in 2011 and recorded two assists. Blum tallied 113 points (23-90=113) and 104 PIM in 236 AHL matches with Milwaukee. He was originally selected by Nashville in the first-round (23rd overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
