Facing a nearly must-win situation in the regular-season finale Saturday night, the Minnesota Wild recalled forwards Jason Zucker and Stephane Veilleux from the Houston Aeros.

Zucker, 21, and Veilleux, 31, will join the team for its final game in Denver against the Colorado Avalanche, where Minnesota faces a scenario in which a win would clinch a playoff berth for the first time in five seasons.

The Wild reassigned forwards Jake Dowell and Carson McMillian to Houston in corresponding moves.

Veilleux was called up earlier this week for Minnesota but was a healthy scratch in one game before being sent back to the Aeros. He had three goals and five assists for Houston this season.
