Mikael Granlund skated away from coach Mike Yeo with his head down at the end of the Wild's morning skate.

Yeo had just informed Granlund he wouldn't play here Thursday night.

Granlund has skated with the team the last three days, but just one of those was a full practice. Because of that, Yeo didn't feel comfortable playing Granlund, who missed 10 straight games with a concussion before Thursday night.

"If we would've practiced (Wednesday), he might've shown me enough to change my mind," Yeo said. "But this is a long season, and we've got to look at the big picture."

Granlund is expected to practice Friday and Saturday, which could set him up to return Sunday night in New York against the Rangers.
