That streak, a hideous run of baseball that seemed to define the 2013 White Sox, is over.

Courtesy of Thursday’s 7-3 win at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox snapped a 14-game losing streak against the Cleveland Indians that dated back to April 24, 2013. At least for a day, the White Sox can forget about a season series that tilted heavily in Cleveland’s favor and helped the Indians reach the postseason. The White Sox lost 17 of 19 meetings and three times were swept in a four-game series.

Thursday’s winning pitcher, John Danks, said the team had a running joke about how poorly they played against the Indians, one of the few lighter moments of a 99-loss campaign.
