The Warriors had just returned home from an awful road trip, having blown a 16-point lead in Philadelphia to drop their 10th game out of 13, and head coach Mark Jackson put his video staff to work.

Instead of hunting down tape of upcoming opponents or trying to splice together lowlights of Warriors missed defensive assignments, lackadaisical rebounding efforts and careless turnovers, however, Jackson wanted video of his players answering a particular question at the start of this month.

"I had my video guys go up to the players and ask them how they felt about making the playoffs, talking about it as if it was a foregone conclusion," Jackson said. "I think it's important to realize your vision and believe it, in the face of losing and in the face of no longer being 13 games over .500."
