Dayan Viciedo swung hard and missed and then winced before he dropped to a knee in the eighth inning on Thursday night.

After he met with manager Robin Ventura and trainer Herm Schneider, the White Sox outfielder exited the game with a left oblique strain. The White Sox announced Viciedo is to be re-evaluated before Friday’s series opener against the Minnesota Twins.

“As soon as he swings it he went down, you know something was up,” Ventura said. “You knew you weren’t going to let him swing after that.”
