Twins shortstop Pedro Florimon was due to have his left wrist examined Sunday morning after being left out of the starting lineup for the second straight day.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said Florimon's wrist is "still a little sore" adding the switch-hitter can swing left-handed but not right-handed. Florimon was expected to be available for defense or pinch-running but likely wouldn't be asked to hit in the series finale against the Houston Astros.

Florimon said he "heard something" in his left wrist while taking a right-handed swing during batting practice before Saturday's game. He said he was still experiencing inflammation in the area below the hamate bone.
