Tottenham are about to break their transfer record for a third time this summer by completing the signing of Willian in the next few hours.

The Brazil attacking midfielder has reportedly passed a medical and is in line to join for £30million.

Spurs are also close to getting Erik Lamela whose brother seemed to indirectly confirm his move on Twitter.

The Willian deal will eclipse Spurs' previous record signings of £17m and £26m paid for Paulinho and Roberto Soldado and manager Andre Villas-Boas is prmoising more transfer business before the window closes on September 2nd.

Erik Lamela's brother Brian was answering questions on Twitter last night when his friend Pablo Ortiz asked him indirectly about the Erik's transfer saying: "He's going to England then?"

"Pablo mate! More than likely yes (I hope they don't translate this) hahaha" replied Lamela before later removing his post.

In another tweet Lamela's brother revealed that the deal would most likely be confirmed on Thursday or Friday.

The successful recruitment of Roma striker Lamela to their ranks is a transfer that would take their outlay during this window to almost £120m including the Willian deal.
