Mauricio Pochettino's overhaul of his Tottenham Hotspur defence looks set to continue with Lazio chasing Younes Kaboul.

New head coach Pochettino has already signed left-back Ben Davies, central defender Eric Dier and is close to completing a £17million deal for Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio.

Argentine Musacchio is expected to partner Jan Vertonghen, who is set to sign a new contract, in the centre of Pochettino’s defence with 20-year-old Dier providing cover.

That leaves Kaboul and captain Dawson free to find new clubs, as Spurs attempt to improve their defensive record this season.

Italian club Lazio are keen on Kaboul, despite the 28-year-old’s injury problems, but are reluctant to meet Tottenham’s initial £6million valuation.
