Tottenham have been given a boost in the hunt for Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato after the Brazilian club confirmed they could sell the striker in January.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is a big fan of former AC Milan man Pato, having tried to sign him in the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old revealed he rejected the switch in an interview this week, but after a fall out with the Corinthians coaching staff, a move could be on the cards.
