Brandon Morrow was caught in spring training limbo Saturday.

The Jays right-hander, withholding his prized slider until later in the pre-season, gave up a two-run homer to Detroit slugger Prince Fielder in his one inning of work as a starter in Toronto’s Grapefruit League opener.

“Part of you wants to go out and get in (the game), the other half is trying to stay back and stay under control,” he told reporters later.

Toronto rallied for an action-packed 10-3 win as Lance Zawadzki hit a grand slam in the sixth inning and fellow pinch hitter Ryan Goins added a three-run shot in the seventh.
