The Detroit Lions went from being a team that was not expected to be active in NFL free agency to one of the busiest squads this week.

Detroit acquired Miami running back Reggie Bush, Houston free safety Glover Quin and Seattle defensive end Jason Jones during NFL free agency. The Lions also re-signed Chris Houston, long snapper Don Muhlbach, linebacker DeAndre Levy, receiver Kassim Osgood, safety Amari Spievey, defensive end Willie Young, offensive tackle Jason Fox, linebacker Ashlee Palmer, safety Don Carey, offensive tackle Corey Hilliard; plus retained safety Ricardo Silva, running back Joique Bell, receiver Kris Durham, and fullback Shaun Chapas through exclusive rights contracts.
