In each of Tomas Vokoun's last three appearances in a game between the Washington Capitals and Florida Panthers, two as the goaltender for the former and one for the latter, he has shut out the opposing club.

The latest was a 42-save dazzler in the Capitals' 4-0 win over Florida on Tuesday that propelled them back into first place in the Southeast Division and third in the Eastern Conference.

"Tomas was sharp all night. We might have not had the lead after the first period if it wasn't for Tomas," Coach Dale Hunter said. "We gave up breakaways and he came up big for us in the first period. He played a great game and he was one of the main reasons why we won."
