Brennan Boesch generated this percussion Wednesday. And seconds later, he had produced a corollary sound.

Ball meets tree.

In batting practice at the minor-league complex, Boesch pulled a drive far over the rightfield fence into a clump of trees. On the fly, the ball smacked into the trunk of one of the trees.
