"I'm excited," Cabrera said of participating in the tournament, though he has no idea where he might play -- first base, third base?

"Call Sojo and ask him," Cabrera joked about Venezuela manager Luis Sojo. "Say: 'Where is Miggy gonna play?' "

Last year's American League MVP and Triple Crown winner was in a jovial mood Saturday at Joker Marchant Stadium. He had hit his third bomb of the spring -- this one an opposite-field shot to rightfield that sailed so high over the bullpen several pitchers looked up and watched it as if it was a meteor. And he was feeling good.

"My legs feel good (too)," he said. "Maybe I'm getting hot."
