The Portland Trail Blazers landed another player with knee problems.

The Portland Trail Blazers acquired guard Eric Maynor from the Oklahoma City Thunder for a trade exception a person familiar with the deal told USA TODAY Sports.

The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly because the trade had not been announced.

With the emergence of 2011 first-round pick Reggie Jackson ((24th overall), Maynor became expendable for Oklahoma City, and the Thunder looked for a place to send him. Maynor, in his fourth season, gives Portland another backup option behind rookie point guard Damian Lillard.

Maynor missed all but nine games last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He has struggled to regain his form this season and had his minutes drop to 10.6 a game while he shoots 31.3% from the field.
