The Nets are now 5-14 on the season, and things don’t look like they will be getting better anytime soon. If they see light a light at the end of the tunnel, it is probably a train.

Well, Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins, Julius Randle and a lot of other studs are in the upcoming draft, so things may get better then, right? Wrong. Remember that little trade the Nets made with the Hawks prior to the start of last season? The Hawks were able to unload Joe Johnson’s contract on the Nets, and there was some fine print that may come back to haunt them.

In the trade agreement, Hawks’ GM Danny Ferry got the Nets to agree to a draft pick swap clause. That gives the Hawks the ability to swap draft positions with the Nets for 2014 AND 2015. The pick is unprotected, and if the Nets somehow get the number one pick, then the Hawks will be selecting for them.
