The Texans began a visit with a third free agent Tuesday, this time with former Jacksonville Jaguars fullback Greg Jones.

The Texans also will bring in former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu for a pre-draft visit. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2011, but his collegiate career was derailed by marijuana use.

Mathieu spent time in a Houston drug rehabilitation center run by John Lucas after being kicked off the team.

Mathieu had a strong workout at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds. NFL Network’s Mike Mayock said Mathieu likely will be a third- or fourth-round pick.

The Texans have hosted two other free agents this offseason and signed both.

They spent a week wooing and then working out a deal with future Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed, who signed a three-year deal worth $15 million Friday.
