One Kansas State quarterback’s insistence on remaining at the position has garnered most of the attention during the Texans’ three-day rookie minicamp.

In truth, the Texans have two former Kansas State quarterbacks participating. One is Collin Klein, who played quarterback throughout college and came to the Texans on a tryout basis at quarterback. The other is Justin Tuggle, who went to Kansas State as a quarterback but switched to a position where he would have better opportunities.

“Collin, he was having a great year at quarterback, and I knew there wasn’t going to be too much competition after that,” Tuggle said. “So I switched.”

Rather than sit behind Klein in college, Tuggle (6-3, 244) carved space for himself at linebacker. A year and a half after making the switch, Tuggle signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent at outside linebacker.
