The Angels lineup card contained a huge surprise today, when Albert Pujols was listed as the DH.
Pujols had said last weekend that he was in no rush to play spring training games, and the Angels didn't seem to be in a hurry either. All indications were that he wouldn't be playing until next week sometime.
More details to come and how he came to be in the lineup today.
Also, the Angels are running out a Mike Trout-Peter Bourjos-Josh Hamilton outfield for the first time. Here's the lineup for today's game against the Reds...
Mike Trout LF
Howie Kendrick 2B
Albert Pujols DH
Josh Hamilton RF
Mark Trumbo 1B
Chris Iannetta C
Peter Bourjos CF
Andrew Romine SS
Brendan Harris 3B
Tommy Hanson P
If you're into roster menutia, you might also note that this is the third consecutive game Romine has started at shortstop since Erick Aybar left for the WBC. It's unusual for anyone to start three games in a row at this time in the spring, but it's probably a still stronger sign that Romine is in the lead for the Maicer Izturis job.
