Just before the start of training camp Suns general manager Ryan McDononough saw one last touch he wanted for the roster that will head to Flagstaff on Monday.

McDonough felt like the Suns needed better perimeter shooting from the time he arrived in May and that has not changed particularly after trading Jared Dudley and Caron Butler. He made the wing positions more competitive for next week’s training camp by signing 6-foot-7 swingman James Nunnally this week shortly after the Suns had added shooting guard Dionte Christmas.

“We brought him (Nunnally) in a for a two-day workout recently and we were impressed with him on and off the court” McDonough said. “It was competitive with other teams interested in signing him and we recruited him. We were able to get him with the opportunity that he will have here.”
