The Yankees remain optimistic about the initial 4-to-6 week time frame for Alex Rodriguez to return after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee on July 11.
GM Brian Cashman said on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight" Sunday night that A-Rod was "doing very well" in his Miami-based rehabilitation and the Yanks are "looking at him (returning) maybe the second week of August" at the earliest.
