The Dallas Stars have placed goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp on injured reserve after the backup goalie tweaked his groin in the third period of Saturday night's loss to the St. Louis Blues.
Nilstorp appeared to have been injured when he stretched across the crease on a wraparound attempt, staying down on the ice for several moments. Nilstorp would stay in the game and fought through obvious pain before eventually being pulled, with Kari Lehtonen going into net to finish the game.
The Swedish netminder finished the game stopping 25-of-29 shots in the game, with the Stars losing to the Blues 4-3.
