Marlins bench coach Joey Cora was a busy guy before Tuesday's game against the Brewers. Cora is in charge of writing up the lineup card. He filled out three of them.

First the Marlins scratched Giancarlo Stanton because of right knee soreness and fatigue. During batting practice, the Marlins sent out another lineup sans Hanley Ramirez, who manager Ozzie Guillen said was dealing with a right knee issue as well.

"He's been sore for the last couple of days," Guillen said. "Today, he started swinging and was sore. I would rather give him a day off than lose him for 15, 20 days."

Donovan Solano took Ramirez's place in the lineup. For Solano, the start is his first since June 17.

This is only the second time Ramirez is not in the starting lineup. He missed the June 15 game at Tampa after a ball struck him in the nose during batting practice.
