While fellow running back Fred Jackson believes his MCL knee injury is something he’ll just have to deal with and manage the rest of the season C.J. Spiller is confident his ailing ankle will be back to 100 percent soon.

"I can tell that it's definitely healing" said Spiller. "I haven't had any setback so I'm just going to continue to do what I do and get treatment and take it day by day. It's responding well."

Managing a persistent ankle injury has not been easy for C.J. Spiller but in an effort to speed up the healing coaches and athletic trainers chose to hold Spiller out of Wednesday's practice.

Spiller did do a little light individual position work but did not do anything else Wednesday as the ankle ailment is now in it's fourth week though it hasn't forced the Bills feature back to miss any games completely.

Last Sunday Spiller appeared to have a bit more of his trademark elusiveness but he maintains he was far from healthy.

"I definitely wasn't 100 percent” he said. “It's all about having that confidence to cut off it and that's the biggest hurdle I face each week going into the game. It definitely felt better than last week but I still feel like I'm not exploding like I normally do."
