Ian Kinsler had a big day at the plate Monday. He's going to have a bigger day at the bank.

According to two sources, the Rangers and Kinsler have agreed on a five-year contract extension worth $75 million that will keep him in Texas through 2017. The contract also includes an option for a sixth year, a source confirmed. An announcement could come as early as Tuesday.

The deal will supplant the option year of his current contract, which called for him to make $10 million in 2013. Instead, the new contract will go into effect at the start of the 2013 season.
