Sonny Gray pitched seven strong innings and Brandon Moss broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning with an RBI double as the A's beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 Wednesday before 23,175 at the Coliseum.

Gray (7-3), snapping a personal two-game losing streak, allowed six hits over his seven innings, walked two and struck out seven.

The A's gave their young righthander a 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the third inning on an RBI double by John Jaso and a two-out run-scoring single by Josh Donaldson. The Rangers tied it 2-2 in the fifth, however, on a two-run bases-loaded single by Shin-Soo Choo.
