ustin Pedroia wasn't handing out cigars, but his smile was omnipresent upon rejoining the Red Sox yesterday and accepting congratulations on the birth of his second son, Cole.

"They're good," Pedroia said of his wife, Kelli, their baby, and new big brother, 3-year-old Dylan. "It was awesome. He's big. He's almost 9 pounds. It's good. They're both healthy, and that's all I can ask for."

Pedroia also returned to the Red Sox lineup, batting in the No. 3 spot and going 0-for-3 in a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. He left Wednesday night's game against the New York Yankees at Fenway Park after getting word from manager Bobby Valentine that Kelli had gone into labor.
