Though Jeremy Pargo’s first 10-day contract expired on Sunday, the Sixers did not bother giving him a second one.

Instead the team decided to sign Pargo for the remainder of the season.

“He’s very strong and quick and he’s very competitive,” coach Doug Collins said about Pargo. “I can play he and Jrue (Holiday) together and the other night I played Jeremy, Jrue and [Royal Ivey] on the floor at the same time just trying to get more playmakers on the floor.

“He’s tough, he gets to the basket, he’ll defend his position and we need more speed. We have to be able to take the ball out of Jrue’s hands some because teams are trapping him.”

Pargo has appeared in three games for the Sixers, posting 24 points on 9-for-24 shooting. He scored 12 in his debut in the Feb. 9 victory over Charlotte in 29 minutes and has averaged 25 minutes in his three games.
