Celtics star Paul Pierce, slowed by his ailing left knee and the defense of Andre Iguodala, shot 5-for-20 and scored 21 points in the first two games of Boston's playoff series against the Sixers, and missed his first six attempts in Game 3 Wednesday night.
But late in the first quarter he drove the baseline and dunked as he drew a foul. Then he dunked again. And before long he had it going on. He would finish the night 6 for 17 from the floor – not great, but not bad, considering his dismal start – as well as 11 for 14 from the foul line for his 24 points. And the Celtics won handily, 107-91.
Sixers can now add Pierce to list of troubles
