Like a couple of sprinters hearing the gun go off to start a race, Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd bolted out a side door and up the stairs out of the Mavericks' practice court without divulging their opinions about the end of the Lamar Odom era in Dallas.

Maybe they were adhering to that rule that mom always used to say: if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all.

Nowitzki and Kidd are almost always stand-up guys who will face media music whenever necessary. But they clearly had nothing to talk about after practice when a horde of media members was gathered on the court.
