After it was reported that the Houston Texans had offered Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed a three-year contract with an average salary of about $4 million a year, should the Saints court Reed and try to sign him?

At one point, Reed was considered too expensive for the cap-strapped Saints. But with this latest revelation that Reed's market isn't in the $7 million range as some believe he would command in free agency, the Saints could find cap space to sign him to a reasonable deal.
Although the Saints still have both of their starting safeties -- Roman Harper and Malcolm Jenkins -- they could use a ball-hawking playmaker like Reed, a nine-time Pro-Bowler with 61 career interceptions, on the back end of their defense.
