The San Jose Sharks have traded forward Ryane Clowe to the New York Rangers in exchange for two second-round picks and a third-round pick, reports TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com.

The trade is pending paper work and a call to the NHL's front office.

One of the second-round picks is conditional on Clowe re-signing with the Rangers or winning two playoff series. The pick becomes a fifth-round selection if neither of the two comes to fruition.

The 30-year-old Clowe had to waive his no-trade clause for the deal to go through and now the two clubs just need to finalize the deal.

In 28 games with the Sharks this season, Clowe has registered 11 assists.
