Scott Hannan has returned to the San Jose Sharks.

The Nashville Predators have traded the 34-year-old defender to the Sharks in exchange for a conditional sixth- or seventh-round draft pick.

Hannan has registered one assist and a minus-11 rating in 29 games with the Predators this season. He is slated to become an unrestricted free agent at season's end after signing a one-year, $1 million deal with the Predators prior to this season.

Originally drafted in the first round (23rd overall) by San Jose at the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Hannan played his first seven seasons with the Sharks.
