Stephane Da Costa is bound for Binghamton.

As reported first by the Sun Thursday the Senators' centre was placed on waivers. If he clears Friday at noon he'll be headed for the club's AHL affiliate.

Da Costa has been a healthy scratch twice -- including for the club's 4-3 OT victory over the Phoenix Coyotes Tuesday -- after having a strong training camp.

GM Bryan Murray told TSN 1200 Thursday that Da Costa needs to be in Binghamton where he can play a regular role.

"He hasn't played very much" said Murray. "We feel that the way we're set up right now it is going to be difficult for him to get many games in the near future.
