The addition of Darren Fells is another example of Seattle’s willingness to consider unorthodox prospects. It is another reflection of John Schneider’s tireless searching as general manager. It is also a move that’s not going to matter all that much to the 2013 Seattle Seahawks.
Fells has all the size you’d want in a tight end at 6 feet 7, 280 pounds. He has all the athleticism, too, given the fact the man played college basketball at UC-Irvine (Go Anteaters!) and played three years professionally overseas. He also has the pedigree as older brother Daniel Fells has played the past five years in the NFL.
What Darren Fells doesn’t have is a lot of football experience. See, he hasn’t played since high school, which is like seven years ago.
