Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that Bastian Schweinsteiger is expected to be fully match fit in time for the restart of the Bundesliga.

The Germany international underwent ankle surgery last month and has not featured for Bayern since the Champions League win over Viktoria Plzen on Nov. 5.

However, the influential midfielder is on his way back and could make his comeback in the Bundesliga game against Borussia Monchengladbach after the winter break.
