The Dodgers have brought back one of the most legendary figures in the history of the franchise, as Sandy Koufax has agreed to rejoin the team as a special advisor to chairman Mark Walter. The Dodgers say Koufax will attend a portion of Spring Training to work with Dodgers' pitchers and consult with the team throughout the year.

It remains to be seen just how long "a portion" will be for the relatively private Koufax.

"I'm delighted to be back with the Dodgers," Koufax said in a release. "I'm looking forward to spending time with the team during Spring Training and to contributing in any way I can to help make the team a success for the fans of Los Angeles. Some of my most cherished memories came at Dodger Stadium."

Koufax made a brief appearance at Camelback Ranch in 2012, and during his one-day visit he expressed dismay that the Dodgers were brought into bankruptcy during the Frank McCourt ownership.
