On Friday we delivered the hard-hitting news that Geno Smith wasn't appearing at Jets West, Mark Sanchez voluntary, offseason training camp in California.

Well, we learned later in the evening that Sanchez doesn't think Smith's absence is -- *gasp* -- "a big deal."

"We invited everybody, we emailed everybody, we do it every year," Sanchez told the NFL Network from his training camp. "I sent out an email to everybody, some guys got back quicker than the others, but everybody was invited. It's not a big deal that he is not here."

Of course it's not a big deal that Smith no-showed Jets West. It's the offseason. It's voluntary. It's run by his direct competition.

Smith and Sanchez don't have to be BFFs or, um, Fs. (That may not be how the kids do it.)

As noted yesterday and as confirmed by Sanchez, he was the ONLY quarterback out there.
