Chris Sale hoped to continue his mastery over the American League West when he took the mound Sunday night against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels' Mike Trout broke up Sale's pefect game on a one out single to center field in the seventh inning.

The Chicago White Sox lefty came in 8-0 against the AL West over 22 career starts. But the Sox are in fifth place in the West after dropping the first two games of this series.

The Sox and Angels came in tied for last place in the AL in errors with 27, and an error was costly for the Sox in Saturday night’s 3-2 loss as an unearned run scored.

Following a team meeting after Saturday night’s loss, Sox manager Robin Ventura decided to sit down struggling first baseman/designated hitter Adam Dunn Sunday.

Ventura deployed Dayan Viciedo as the designated hitter and started recently-acquired Casper Wells in left field.
