Ryan Wilson was so excited for this season but already his status for Game 1 of the regular season is in question.
Wilson who missed much of last season with ankle injuries has a knee injury and will be out a while. Right now Patrick Roy says the team is optimistic he’ll only miss a couple of weeks. So maybe he’ll have a shot at making the opening-night lineup against Anaheim.

Wilson suffered the injury in Sunday’s Burgundy-White preseason game at the Air Force Academy. I don’t know what kind of knee injury or to which one. I wasn’t at the game Sunday and the team was off Monday. The fact this doesn’t appear to be a long-term injury obviously is good news for Wilson and the Avs but it’s a tough setback already for a guy who wants to have a big year as a top-four D-man with the Avs.
