After spending 6 1/2 seasons living in FedExForum, Rudy Gay now calls Air Canada Center home clearly with mixed emotions.
Memphis traded Gay, a 26-year-old small forward, last month to Toronto in a three-team deal that brought Detroit’s Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye, and Toronto’s Ed Davis to the Bluff City.
What has the move meant to Gay?
He has gone from being a piece of the puzzle for Memphis to being deemed the man in Toronto with increased scoring (21.1 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg) despite a lower shooting percentage (.383). Gay averaged a team-leading 17.2 points on 40.8 percent shooting with 5.9 rebounds in 42 games with the Griz this season.
